Our little Morgan...

I'm not posting pictures this time...but will soon! I just have to share this good news and am ashamed I haven't done it sooner. One week ago today, Morgan accepted Jesus as her Savior right here in our living room. Morgan has been asking lots of questions about being saved and going to Heaven for about a year now. My fear was that she was too young. She first started really inquiring about it last school year when David had already moved over here to work and me and the girls stayed in Prescott. I was just concerned because she had seen a lot of young kids being baptized at our church in Prescott and I thought maybe that's all she wanted to do...be baptized. She turned 8 in February and the questions have not let up. She's always asking about Heaven...what's it like...wanting to meet Jesus face to face and just hug him and tell him how much she loves him...not wanting to go "down there"...just so much to be going through a child's mind. Last Tuesday night (May 19th...I won't ever forget the date), we took the girls to Pizza Hut to eat (their favorite place). As soon as David and Morgan got in the truck, here comes the questions. When Lauren and I got in, he told me that she was asking more questions about being saved. I just looked at him and said, "we don't need to keep putting this off." He asked her if she wanted to go talk to our preacher and she said yes. We drove to his house, but he wasn't home...out of town for the week. So we named a couple others that she may want to talk to and David even suggested trying to call them the next night or so. She insisted she had to talk to someone that night. So as soon as we got home, he started calling around trying to get someone. Ryan called us back (AWANA commander) and was at our house in a short time. He was here for over an hour...talking to her, questioning her...David and I just sat back and listened. He told her that she could pray and ask Jesus into her heart at any time and it didn't have to be right then...but she wanted to do it "right then". It was so precious...we all bowed our heads and waited for her to pray, but never heard her say a word...she was praying quietly and I know the Lord heard every word she said. When she was finished, Ryan asked her if she would share with us what she prayed...and she did. God has been speaking to her little heart for a long time now and she knew it was time. Ryan told David and me that he was very impressed with what she knew and he said "hats off to you guys for answering all of her questions and teaching her about Jesus." I'm so thankful that God has blessed me with such a wonderful family...I could not ask for a better husband or for two more precious girls than ours. Thank you God for your many blessings.

That is the most wonderful news! I know that you are so happy and that this will be one of your most memorable memories as a parent. Give Morgan a hug for me and tell her I am so happy for her.

Words can not explain the joy in my heart. I have just cried with happiness since she told us on the way back down here Tuesday. Last night at church when they ask if anyone had a praise report she wanted me to tell them she had been saved. So when I shared the wonderful news everyone clapped and said Praise the Lord. She is so knowledgeable for her age. I thank God all time for the way you and David are raising our little angels. God will use her as she goes through life.

I'm wiping tears as I type. I read your facebook page but hadn't gotten around to reading the whole "story". Yeah....MORGAN!!!! That's the best news a parent can ever get.

I know that you are incredibly proud. That just brings joyous tears to my eyes. It's amazing how much they learn just by watching, listening, and asking questions. It pays to take the time to stop and listen to their questions and take their questions seriously. We are so proud for Morgan and your whole family.
