Happy early Birthday David!!

David's birthday is not until August 5th, but I couldn't wait to give him his presents. His brother went to Omaha to the College World Series and sent this newspaper piece to us. David "mentioned" having it framed, but we left it at that. I secretly took it to Keepsakes here in town and had her matte it in purple and gold for him. We hung it in his office.

Surprise #1
Surprise #2
I have a personalized license plate on my car and have been wanting to get one for him for a long time. Mine says CASSELS, but I wanted his to have something to do with LSU. You can go online and do this yourself, see what's available, and even see what it'll look like on a license plate. I wanted LSU FAN, but believe it or not, someone in Arkansas already has that! Hmmm...more LSU fans in Arkansas...Anyway, I also thought about TIGA FAN, but wasn't sure he'd like that. So I decided to just do LSUFAN1. Well, I get a thing in the mail telling me that his plate is in Little Rock and I can either pick it up or get it through the mail, BUT I'll have to send a copy of his registration certificate. I'm still trying to keep this a secret, but it's hard when you're having to sneak something out of his truck and go make a copy of it. He came in that day, sat down, and I said, "I need to run up to the school for something." He was thinking, "she's had all day to go up to the school, why is she waiting til I get home?" I'm not a good liar, so I just came out and told him that it had something to do with his surprise. I snuck his registration out of his truck and made a copy of it. Then I had to wait again for the plate to be mailed here to me. I know this story is long, but I'm almost done. His plate came in the other day...I went to Wal-Mart and got school supplies and just left them in the trunk. When he got home, he sat down with Lauren and I thought, "this is the perfect time for me to do this." I went out to unload my trunk, but hurried up and put his new plate on his truck while I was outside. I came in with my stuff and said, "where did that big dent come from in your back bumper?" Well, he looked mad and headed outside...we were right behind him (me, with my camera in hand) and he looked....and looked....and looked some more!!! OMG!!! He finally looked back at me and said, "where is the dent?" When he saw I had my camera, he said, "ok, where's my surprise?" I said, "Are you kidding me????" FINALLY, he saw it and I caught his look on camera. If it had been a snake, it would've bitten him.
Naturally, he'll get picked on by friends and co-workers here in Arkansas. Some guys at work have already taken it off and put it back on upside down. Oh well, they'll just have to deal with it!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!
