Sweetheart Banquet
My sweetheart...my Valentine!!! David and I went to the Sweetheart Banquet at our church last night. We started the night off with supper (spaghetti, bread, salad) and for dessert, brownies with a homemade chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Christy's mother was the one who did all the cooking and made the chocolate sauce from scratch...talk about delicious! Mmmm...Mmmm! Then, on to the "Newlywed game". We weren't one of the couples who participated, but the ones who did had us laughing so hard until my face was hurting. I don't know who all has heard of or seen "cardboard testimonies"...well, we did something similar...instead of giving a testimony, we had to write something about our spouse. All you do is go up in front of everyone and hold up your cardboard and you don't have to say a word. Some people were funny (David being one of them) and some were on a more serious note (that would be me). On the front of my cardboard, I wrote "My husband David..." and on the back it said "is the best husband and father! He is also my best friend." On the front of David's cardboard (which, by the way, was a box that had Little Debbie on it, you know...the snack cakes) he wrote, "I love my wife more than..." and on the back, he drew an arrow pointing to the picture of Little Debbie. Ha Ha...very funny David. Oh well, I wouldn't have him any other way.
This is my friend, Crystal. She and I have become pretty close this year. We team together at MIS. As a matter of fact, I first met her when I interviewed at MIS. She was on the interview team. I was hired last March. Then I saw her again when we starting visiting Pauline Baptist Church. She and her husband, Landon, are a hoot and my kids adore them. They are expecting their first child in August.
