I'm a fanatic when it comes to turning lights off when you leave a room, but occasionally I'll leave a light on (usually over the kitchen sink) so it won't be so dark inside when we get back from eating out or something. Well, the other day, I noticed that one of my bulbs was burned out over my sink. I have (or should I say, had) a real pretty light that hung down from the ceiling over my kitchen sink. I tried changing the bulb that was out and the new one wouldn't work. So, I just left it alone and didn't think anymore about it. Last night, David was sitting in the living room reading to Lauren, Morgan was in her room reading, and I was washing my face getting ready to shower. All of a sudden, I hear him yell out something (couldn't make out what it was) and I ran in there to see what was going on. When I walked in the kitchen, I could smell it. He was standing over by the sink looking up at the light. He said he heard something making a crackling sound and looked over...it looked like the bulb was working alright...it was smoking and had already started to flame up. Needless to say, that light is no longer in my house. It's in the trash. We threw the breaker and he got it out of here. Now I need to buy a new light...I just have an electrical cord hanging from my ceiling. Thank God we were home!!!
By the way, today is my brother's birthday...Happy Birthday Heath!!!
